LONDON, May 7 2003: London Business School's inaugural Private
Equity Conference will be held on June 3 at the School. It will
be an integrated meeting of industry executives, investors, academics
and business school students and will establish a forum to share
opinions and insights in a highly interactive and personal setting.
Turbulence in Private Equity: Is the Worst Over or Approaching will
address today's challenging business environment and the implications
for investment opportunities.
Industry professionals and distinguished academics will address
delegates through a series of speeches and panel discussions on
topics including buyouts, fund of funds, real estate and venture
capital.
Keynote speakers include Maurice Tchénio, cofounder of Apax
Partners and Hermann Hauser, cofounder of Amadeus Capital and a
leading entrepreneur in the European computer and technology industry.
The closing keynote speech will be delivered by Richard Sharp, Head
of PIA Europe, Managing Director of Goldman Sachs International
and a Partner of Goldman Sachs Corporation.
Over 20 senior professionals from firms such as The Blackstone
Group, KKR, Permira, 3i, Add Partners, BC Partners, Doughty Hanson,
HarbourVest, Flatiron Partners, and Unigestion will share their
perspectives during six interactive panel discussions.
In addition delegates will be able to exchange ideas, knowledge
and information on Globalization of Private Equity: Survival of
the Fittest at the kick-off dinner to be held on June 2 at the Naval
& Military Club on St. James' Square, London. This exclusive event
addresses the growth of the private equity industry and implications
for investment strategies. Dwight Poler, MD and Head of Bain Capital
Europe and Juan Navarro, founder and Chairman of the Exxel Group,
the largest fund in Latin America, will offer their perspectives
on global opportunities.
