Maurice
Tchénio is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Apax
Partners & Cie Ventures s.a. He is a graduate of the Ecole
des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) and the Harvard Business
School from which he graduated as a Baker Scholar with high
distinction. He worked at HEC as Associate Professor of Finance
and with Institut de Développement Industriel in Paris,
an investment bank making equity investments. In 1972 he was
a cofounder with Ronald Cohen of MMG which is now Apax Partners.
At Apax he has invested in a very wide range of industries and
has particular expertise in consumer goods and specialty retailing.
He has been directly involved in a number of early stage, buy-out/buy-in
and turnaround situations. He currently represents Apax on the
boards of Aigle, Morgan, Histoire dOr and Celio amongst
other companies. He was a founder director and Vice-Chairman
of the French Venture Capital Association (AFIC) and a director
of the European Venture Capital Association. |
