Brian Larcombe is Chief Executive of 3i, Europe's leading venture capital company. He joined 3i in 1974 and worked for 18 years on identifying, appraising and negotiating investment opportunities and became joint head of the UK Investment business. Ahead of 3i's flotation on the London Stock Exchange, Brian joined the Board of 3i in 1992 as Director of Finance and Planning. In July 1997 he was appointed Chief Executive.

Brian is a non-executive Director of Smith & Nephew and a former chairman of the British Venture Capital Association.
